CAN YOU HELP ME FIND GEORGE'S PARENTS?
George Wesley Smith was born on 24 August in either 1857 or 1858. We believe he has  born in Albany, NY. He married Sarah Louisa Babb on 4 January 1876 in Pottawattamie county, IA. We think his mother was Abigal Smith. She was born around 1833, possibly in NY. We believe she married George's father on 11 Oct 1854 or possibly 1857 in Oneonta, NY. They separated around George's birth and she took back her maiden name. Later she married a man with the last name of Bowen. George's father is believed to be Sylvanus J. Schermerhorn, born around 1829 possibly in NY. His last name may have been Shermerhorn, Shermehorn, or Schermehorn.
